Foundations for Freedom: How Liz Faircloth Helps Others Build Wealth on Their Terms
Mar 20, 2025
Liz’s passion for empowering women began with leading support groups for those facing life’s toughest challenges. Her journey took a new direction when she discovered real estate as a powerful tool for financial freedom. After building a successful portfolio, she co-founded InvestHER®, a global community dedicated to helping women gain confidence, build wealth, and take control of their futures.
Liz, tell us about your passion.
I'm passionate about empowering women to live life on their own terms by leveraging real estate as a tool to build generational wealth and achieve financial freedom.
How did you discover your passion, and how long have you been practicing it? Was there a big "aha moment" or did you realize it more slowly?
I’ve always been drawn to empowering women—my passion began in graduate school when I ran support groups for women facing substance abuse and mental health challenges. My journey took a transformative turn when I read "Rich Dad Poor Dad" and took a year of real estate investing classes.
The true “aha” moment came when, after facing numerous challenges, my husband and I purchased our first duplex with a modest $30,000 loan from my parents. From that small start, we steadily expanded our experience and portfolio, eventually building a real estate team that now owns and manages millions in assets. I left my job twice to join my husband full-time, achieving financial freedom and welcoming our first child—a new chapter in both our family and business.
Yet, despite the success on paper, I felt something was missing and lost my identity; investing in real estate alone wasn’t enough—I wanted to make a deeper impact. That realization sparked the evolution of a single virtual mastermind into InvestHER®, a worldwide community where every woman has the birthright to become financially free. This journey, which has spanned over two decades, has been a process of continual reinvention, aligning my role with my life’s purpose, and inspiring women to live life on their own terms.
Have you ever hesitated in pursuing your passion? Why? What support has helped you continue?
Yes, there were moments when I hesitated—especially when, despite achieving success in real estate, I felt lost and questioned whether I was truly fulfilling my purpose. I wondered if the impressive portfolio and financial freedom were enough when my heart was set on making a deeper impact. What ultimately helped me overcome those doubts was the unwavering support of my husband, our growing real estate team, and the InvestHER® community. Their belief in our mission and encouragement to empower women reassured me that I was on the right path and inspired me to continue pursuing my passion.
Where have you needed to invest your time, energy, or other resources to pursue this passion? What have you removed from your life so that you could pursue it?
I've put in a lot of time and energy—taking classes, analyzing deals, and gradually building our team and portfolio. My partner Andresa and I both left our steady jobs to focus fully on InvestHER®, cutting out anything that wasn’t directly helping us empower women to achieve financial freedom and build real wealth. We've also invested in ourselves, from brain scans and personal development weekends to working with coaches and therapists, all aimed at growing our community, our business, and ourselves.
Tell us about one challenge you've encountered as you've pursued this passion.
Building a team—including volunteers—has been a real adventure with its ups and downs. I've learned that clear communication and setting defined roles are essential, and leaning on mentors, coaches, and even therapists has helped me navigate the challenges. I'm still finding the right balance, but every step is making our community and business stronger.
Look back at the “you” before you started this passion. Is your life different now? How?
Before I discovered my passion, I was following the traditional path—go to school, get a job, and follow a set route. Now, thanks to my entrepreneurship journey in real estate and co-founding InvestHER® with Andresa, my life has transformed. I've built a thriving business and supportive community, but more importantly, I've grown personally. I've found my voice, speak with confidence, and learned not to take things so personally. I've let go of the noise that doesn't serve me and embraced being my authentic self.
How has your passion helped others?
My passion has empowered women to take bold steps in their lives—many have left their conventional jobs to pursue real estate investing. This shift has not only helped them achieve financial freedom but has also boosted their confidence and ignited new passions. I've seen firsthand how even small wins can lead to transformative changes in their financial lives and overall self-belief.
What is one “life lesson” you’re learning as you pursue this passion?
Even though I'm naturally a Type A and impatient, embracing my authentic self and trusting the journey—even when it means letting go of what no longer serves me—opens up a world of possibility. Learning to be patient has taught me that progress is often gradual, and sometimes, the best things in life unfold in their own time.
What would you say to a friend or colleague who is considering exploring a passion?
Start by really noticing what gives you energy and what drains you. It's not just one conversation—it’s an ongoing process of tuning into what brings you joy on a daily basis. Begin small and be mindful of your energy; let your passion grow naturally rather than trying to force it all at once. Trust your instincts, take it one step at a time, and enjoy the journey.
